The Livelihood Project of Mushroom Cultivation represents a significant step forward in empowering women across the rural landscape of Uttarakhand. Targeting 60 women from the three blocks of Ukhimath, Agastyamuni, and Jakholi in Rudraprayag District, this initiative is designed to foster economic independence and self-sufficiency within these communities. Supported by UGVS-IFAD, the project provides comprehensive training in mushroom cultivation, equipping the participants with practical skills that can be directly applied to create sustainable sources of income. Mushroom cultivation is particularly well-suited to the environmental conditions of Uttarakhand, making it an ideal choice for local agricultural development. Through hands-on workshops and continuous support, the women involved in this project are gaining not only technical expertise but also the confidence to become entrepreneurs in their own right. Mushroom Cultivation Training (District-wide)

The District-wide Mushroom Cultivation Training is a comprehensive initiative designed to empower 300 individuals across Rudraprayag District, Uttarakhand, with the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue sustainable livelihoods. Supported by UGVS-IFAD, this program plays a crucial role in enhancing the economic resilience of the local population by introducing mushroom cultivation as a viable and profitable agricultural practice. Through this training, participants gain hands-on experience in the entire process of mushroom cultivation, from the preparation of substrates to harvesting and marketing the produce. The program is tailored to meet the specific needs of the rural communities in Rudraprayag, taking into account the unique environmental conditions and local resources available. By focusing on practical, easily implementable techniques, the training ensures that participants can immediately apply what they have learned to start or improve their own mushroom cultivation ventures.
Training in Dhoop Agarbatti and Candle Making

Sponsored by Namami Gange, this program is designed to provide women with the skills and knowledge needed to start their own small-scale businesses in the production of Dhoop Agarbatti and candles, two products that are in constant demand both locally and beyond. From selecting the right materials to understanding the intricacies of production and packaging, the women involved gain comprehensive expertise that can be directly applied to create sustainable livelihoods.
